How to use Google Search Console's "URL removal tool" There are three tabs in the URL removal tool. The main one is the "Temporary Delete" tab on the far left, which opens by default. A list of URLs for which you have applied for deletion within the past 6 months will be displayed, but if you have not applied for deletion within the period, nothing will be displayed. URL removal tool First, I will explain how to use "temporary deletion". Request temporary deletion When you click "New Request" on the "Temporary Delete" tab, a screen for entering the request details will open.


new request There are two types of requests: Use the tabs to select the request that best suits your situation. Temporarily remove a URL The requested URL will not be displayed in search results for 6 months. Use this if a page you have already deleted continues to appear in search results. Clear cached URLs Only the cache  Special Data information will be deleted, leaving the relevant URL in the search results. Use this when the title or snippet (description)  the user to see, such as past information. No matter which you choose, the basic method is the same.





Just enter the URL you want to apply for and send. You can choose whether to delete just the target URL or delete the entire directory (prefix). Check your request history Once you submit your request, you will see your request history along with the status in the Temporary Deletion tab. Request sent Once your request is approved, the status will change to "Approved". However, approval is not always guaranteed. If you were not approved, click Details to see the reason. If you want to cancel a request, you can do so from "Cancel Request" in this history.
